Lawson has been an Assistant County Attorney since 2018. Originally from Owensboro, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from Western Kentucky University. Lawson studied law at the Georgetown University Law Center and graduated in 2017. He has received admission to the Maryland Bar and has received a limited practice license from Kentucky. Lawson previously worked in the Office of the Maryland Attorney General in the Correctional Litigation Division.
Lawson also is a big sports fan. He used to be an avid tennis player and played on a Division 3 college national championship team, although his game is a little rusty now. Lawson’s wife can never call his sports trivia knowledge “useless” anymore, after it landed him a spot on the ESPN game show Stump the Schwab and won them a free trip to the Bahamas.
