Misty joined the Henderson County Attorney’s Office in July 2021. She was born in Henderson County and raised in Webster County by her grandparents. Misty graduated Webster County High School in 2009 and attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Misty then attended the University of Kentucky College of Law where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. Misty was sworn into the Kentucky Bar Association in October 2016. She has clerked for two Kentucky family court judges, practiced family law, and served as a public defender before joining the Henderson County Attorney’s Office.
Misty made the decision to attend law school at a very early age so she could prosecute child abuse cases. She feels privileged and honored to be trusted with prosecuting the Dependency, Neglect, and Abuse Court, along with her other prosecutorial and Assistant County Attorney duties. She currently serves as the Second Assistant County Attorney and is the Director of Prosecution.
In her spare time, Misty enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her grandparents. Misty serves as a Board Member for the Defending Heroes Project in Henderson and is also a member of the Henderson County Bar Association. Misty is also a proud supporter of the Children’s Advocacy Center (“CAC”) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (“CASA”) Association.
